Heather began CrossFit in 2008, during college at NC State University, where she studied psychology and sports medicine. After a couple of years of CrossFit, she wanted to pursue coaching, so that she could pass on to others what CrossFit had done for her. Heather began competing nationally in Olympic Weightlifting in 2011, which she dedicated most of her athletic career to.
Heather moved to NYC to complete a Sports Psychology internship, where she continued to pursue Weightlifting and began coaching full time at various boxes around the city. During the 8 years in NYC, she studied a variety of fitness skills and therapy techniques to enhance her knowledge as a coach. She has both a CF-L1 and a USAW-1 certification, which she also taught for a duration of her career.
Heather has placed 2nd at the USAW American Open and took 2nd at the 2019 Pan American trials. She is passionate about the benefits of CrossFit and Strength training, and the positive effects it can have on one’s livelihood. She believes that although everyone may not train with intention to be a professional athlete, they can train to feel like one in their own lives.
